Twenty-five trees, two Saturdays

St. Vincent de Paul is partnering with ReLeaf Petaluma to plant 25 native trees across our campus. They bring the trees, the plan and the expertise. We bring the people.

Where they're going

All 25 sites, flagged and numbered by ReLeaf.

Every flag is a tree. Some of these spots need a little clearing. Several need stumps and root balls pulled out entirely — which is why November 7 matters so much.

We need you most here

Prep day

Saturday, November 7 · 9:00 AM – 2:00 PM

25–30 volunteers

Before a single tree goes in, 25 sites have to be cleared — old stumps and roots out, overgrown shrubs removed, ground cover cut back, and every hole opened up and made diggable. Some spots need a little work. Several need a lot. Bring work gloves, sturdy closed-toe boots, and a shovel, loppers or wheelbarrow if you have them. Lunch is on the Dad's Club.

Planting day

Saturday, November 14 · sign-in 8:45 AM, start 9:00

12–15 volunteers

ReLeaf Petaluma runs this one. They bring all the tools, stakes and mulch, and they'll walk everyone through planting, staking and mulching. No experience needed at all. Dress in layers and clothes you can dig in, and bring sunscreen and a hat.

Helpers must be 14 or older. Our older students are genuinely welcome, and this is real, satisfying work for them. Younger children are welcome to come along with a parent — they just can't take part in the clearing or planting itself.
